About Us

Hello and thank you for your interest in United Taekwondo Academy of Manalapan. I am Bryan Klein and I would like to take just minute to tell you a little bit about our school. When I am asked what really separates our academy from any other martial arts school,I tell people passion!

You see, growing up I was a shy, introverted kid who was always picked last to be on the team. Over the years, I have benefited from martial arts in ways that were truly unimaginable to both me and my parents. It has become my life's passion to give back and to help others develop the confidence, discipline, and leadership skills that have helped me throughout life.

Now that I am a parent of three young children I feel fortunate that my kids will grow up in a time and place where the threat of a physical attack is very small. So I began to think that preparing our children for true self-defense needs to extend far beyond the skills necessary to fend off a would be attacker and needs to address some of the scariest problems parents and kids face today.

Many martial arts programs only teach children to defend themselves against a physical attack. We used to be one of those schools. However, children today are faced with many threats stretching far beyond those of just a physical nature.

I have identified three modern-day threats that our children (and even parents) face today:Mediocrity, Obesity and Inactivity, Peer Pressure andPoor Self-Esteem!

Self Defense against Mediocrity:

Our main goal when teaching martial arts is to help every studentdevelop to his or her fullest potential. Not just in martial arts but in all areas of life. As our students progress through the program they learn to set and achieve worthwhile goals this will help your child to stand out from the crowd and will ensure his or her success in school, college and in life beyond.

Self Defense against Obesity and Inactivity

Automatic can openers, automatic garage door openers, and remote control everythings&; all of these advances remove movement from our lives. Our children are paying the price. To make matters worse the most popular leisure activities among today's youth are watching television, playing video games and chatting on the computer. Our program helps kids to develop physically and encourages a healthy lifestyle all while having fun!

Self Defense against Peer Pressure

One of the scariest problems for many parents is the thought that their child may get involved with drugs, smoking, or alcohol. The number of "Good Kids" that are taking drugs at a younger and younger age is staggering. Our instructors promote self-esteem and self-confidence so that children develop the courage to SAY NO to unhealthy choices despite peer pressure.

Self Defense against Poor Self-Esteem

Our students learn that when you set goals and persevere to achieve those goals, you feel good about yourself. This extends far beyond the karate classroom. It carries over into school and home life as well.

Finally- While we Wish it Were Never a Factor

The fact remains that we live in a world where some people are not so nice. We are dedicated towards teaching effective, modern day self-defense that arms your child with the skills necessary to spot a dangerous situation, and if need be, defend him or herself against an attack.

It is my sincerest wish to work with your child to overcome the challenges he or she faces and to help him or her attain the skill and knowledge necessary to take on any of lifes challenges. Please accept my invitation to experience first-hand how our program can benefit your child. Try our FREE Introductory Program (Includes a FREE Month of Lessons and a FREE Uniform). Sincerely,
